Updated: Aug 5, 2022

Alert today – Alive tomorrow

Motor vehicle act enacted in 1988 but commenced on 1 July 1988. It is signed by Ramaswamy Venkataraman. This act covers the whole India, including the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The motor vehicle act bill 2017 was imp legislation as it will radically change the 30-year-old law.

Motor vehicle amendment act 2019, implemented on Sunday, 1 september 2019 in which 63 provisions that are dealing with penalties, licenses, registration, and national transport policy. The legislation introduced by the minister of road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari. this amendment was passed by the Rajya Sabha on 31 July and in Lok Sabha on 23 July.

Aacording to data roughly 1.5 lakh peoples were killed in road accidents every year in india, to stop this this accidents strict fines are implied on the people. So that everyone get helmet ,license, pollution chek , follow traffic rules because of high e-chalans that is sent by the traffic police directly through the sms , only by scanning the number plate of vehicle.

How much this ammendemnt is successfill this result does not come out. But surely it will help and decrease the cases of the road accident. but people are no so happy with this amendment because of heavy challans. they want challans rate will be decrease. Some people in the interview said that only the poor people are affected by this amendment. Rich persons are not affected because of their high profile traffic police do not force them to pay the challans.in my interview, people said that it is good a strong policy regarding motor vehicle act but the challans are too much high for this in delhi people come on the road for a strike on 19 september 2019 some schools and colleges are also closed that day.
